South St. Paul: three council seats on the 2026 ballot

South St. Paul's official election page shows three City Council seats open in 2026. Those seats are currently held by Joe Kaliszewski, Tom Seaberg, and Matthew Thompson (incumbents, terms expire January 1, 2027). Candidate filing runs from May 19 to June 2, 2026. If more than six candidates file, the race appears on the August 11, 2026 primary ballot. If six or fewer file, it goes directly to the November 3, 2026 general election ballot.

Current affidavits of filing shown on the official elections page: Gusta Carr, Brian Ducklinsky, and Matthew Thompson. This is not a final candidate list.

Candidate filing is scheduled to close June 2, 2026 at 5:00pm. Ballot status should be treated as time-sensitive until after the June 4, 2026 withdrawal deadline passes and the city posts the official final list.
